04/05/13…Join in with specially composed ‘Music In The Park’ song
AS part of their performance at Music in in the Park next Saturday,May 12, John Hampden School Choir will be singing a theme-song created for the occasion by local composer Barry Gibson. The new, specially-composed ‘long-song’ (called ‘Music in the Park’!) has a catchy join-in-chorus-with-actions (claps, slaps and clicks) and four verses highlighting sounds that you might hear in the park – if you listen.
There are weather-sounds, people-sounds, wildlife-sounds and, finally ‘instruments in every style’. In between the verses are four ‘sound-picture-windows’, where voice-sounds will mingle with real-sounds recorded around Thame.
Acoustic instrumentalists of all ages who would like to join in with the long-song from the audience-side can email sQuarish productions (info@squarish.co.uk) to request a free copy of the words, music, chords and a link to a backing-track.
When emailing, please indicate what instrument you aim to be playing. The John Hampden choir slot will start at 2pm on Stage 2. For details of advance tickets and the line-up for this amazing day-festival, see the website www.musicinelmspark.co.uk
