THE environment organisation behind the regular Thame ‘Swap Shops’ has won a national Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice 2013.

CAG, or the Community Action Group Project, based in Oxford, is dedicated to reducing waste, and Swap shops held throughout the county are just one way that local people can find a new home for unwanted items that might otherwise go to landfill.

The 21st Century Thame Partnership is a member of CAG and its Environmental Working Group regularly organises Swap Shops in the town.

CAG will find out whether its won a gold, silver or bronze award at the awards ceremony at the House of Commons on November 11.
