Posted 28/09/13 Papa Truck return to headline Thame music club
FRESH from playing at the Towersey Festival, Papa Truck returns to The First Thursday Music Club to take the 10 o’clock feature slot at The James Figg pub in Thame, on Thursday, September 5.
Based in South Bucks, Papa Truck is a Bluegrass band, playing original material written by the band. The line-up includes Martin (lead vocals, guitar and mandolin), Dan (banjo), Ryan (harmony vocals and guitar), and Sparkie (harmony vocals and double bass), with Nia Sherrington (fiddle) being the latest recruit.
As well as playing numerous venues in their local area where they have a strong and devoted following, Papa Truck have appeared at bluegrass festivals around the UK and Europe. As part of their trip to Vilnius in Lithuania, they performed three original songs live on National Television. They now have two albums available featuring all original songs written by Martin and Dan.
FTMC has become the regular monthly music event in Thame – and it’s FREE! A typical night includes around a dozen different acts ranging from singer-song writers through to full bands.
Round up some friends, get along, and have a great night out. Anyone can play – just by signing up at the venue from 7.45pm. The music starts at 8.15pm.
