Local mum of two, Kate Farnaby, has opened a new shop in Thame – a shop with a difference. Named Edie and Po after her two children, Kate is hoping that the ethos of the new shop will help to challenge people’s shopping habits.
“You can still buy beautiful things without having such a negative impact on the world.”
The name reflects that we need to change our shopping habits for the benefits of the next generation – there is a strong environmental and eco vibe to the way all of the products are sourced.

Kate is using her past experience and time spent around antiques coupled with her passion for home interiors to support the following three area
- Refound
- Reloved
- Remade
In the shop you can expect to find a great selection of hand-picked, beautiful, vintage furniture – from small to larger pieces. Kate has a keen eye for stylish pieces and is selective in what she chooses to stock.
Kate and her team also take older furniture – whether sourced by them or put forward by a customer – and breathe new life and style into it.
“Why throw out a perfectly solid piece of furniture when you can change how it looks to reflect a more modern or different style?”
As well as making the most of older furniture, Kate also stocks new stock with eco credentials including products from local producers such as greetings cards and cushions made from washable velvet (yeah – I didn’t know that was a thing either).
Originally from Yorkshire, via London, Kate fell in love with Thame and the surrounding area and has been impressed with the creative individuals she’s met while sourcing products for the new shop.
