Our very own Thame Concert Band are heading to Warwick on the 6th of November to attend the Mid-England Regional Festival.
Let’s all wish them the best of luck!
Thame Concert Band was formed in 1993 by a small group of local musicians and has grown considerably since. They’ve performed at many local events and now they’re representing Thame at a National level. The National Concert Band Festival is the UK’s largest Wind Band and Big Band Festival so it’s quite an honour to be selected to represent Thame!
“We’re all very excited (and a little bit nervous!) to be heading to the National Concert Band Festival for the first time this year. We’ll be playing Gallimaufry by Guy Woolfenden and Shining Sword by Rob Wiffin – two challenging pieces to master! We’ve been practising hard but we’re looking forward to enjoying the whole atmosphere of the day and the high level of music making. We hope we can make Thame proud!”
